Vet Visit For New Dog Or Puppy

If you have taken on a new puppy or found a dog, your first step should be a visit with a Veterinarian. It is important to make sure your new pal doesn’t bring in any viruses or pests and know if it has any health issues. Many puppies will have worms that sound gross but are very normal in doggyland — a dose of de-wormer or two and all is fine. Adult dogs may have tapeworms (easy fix with a pill at the Vet office) or heart worms (a bit more complicated but treatment starts at the Vet). Many dogs can spread worms of most types around to other dogs easily, so you want to be on top of this. The Vet visit will check for worms and fleas and mites so DO bring your new pal in to be seen!

Happy Dogging!
